Ophthalmology application

Parking lot outside of ECU Thank you for your interest in the Ophthalmology Residency at ECU Health Medical Center. Applications should be submitted through the SF Match Central Application Service. Our ophthalmology residency is a four-year program with an integrated PGY-1 internship. Our program does not require separate PGY-1 application and rank list through the National Residency Match Program. We offer three training positions per year.

We assess all applicants holistically using the following sources:

CAS application
Medical school transcripts
Three (3) letters of recommendation
Dean’s letter / MSPE
Personal statement
USMLE or COMLEX transcript

We begin reviewing applications via SF Match in September each year and conduct interviews later in the fall. Specific interview dates will be listed each year on our SF Match program profile. Candidates who are selected to interview will be notified of remaining available dates. All interviews are currently conducted virtually in accordance with AUPO guidelines.
